Martial Arts In My Life

By reading the title on this blog you may think that I might be a martial arts pro, but is wrong martial arts has been a little part of my life, little, but important and remarkable. Everything started when I was just 12 years old and my childhood best friends tried to convince to join Tae Kwon Do class at our local Boys & Girls Club and I said no to them. They eventually convinced me after they asked my mother to talk to me about it.

My Tae Kwon Do Life

After taking classes of Tae kwon Do a martial art originated in Korea, I realized that since I wasn't too much of a fan of sports other than volleyball, kickingball or soccer which were the ones I only practiced, my place was into the field of Martial Arts. Tae Kwon Do based on kicking and punching was a martial art that I  always admired and for me was the best one, even though I haven't practiced it a for a long time my love for Tae kwon Do still resides within me. Starting as a white belt as most martial arts from exercising, to breaking fake and real woods, winning and losing fights in matches during class or tournaments helped me a lot to see that in general life is based on persevering and moving forward and seeing beyond the horizon.

My Life in Karate
After leaving Tae Kwon Do when I was 15 years I had the hope to return into a martial arts field focusing on Tae Kwon Do, However, sometimes we have no control of how things are gonna turn out to be in life. I never expected to practice Karate as my love for Tae Kwon Do was loyal, but having the opportunity to train with one of the best trainers and friends has been a rewarding opportunity and made me realize that we can always look into new things, learn from old and new stuff, and even combine everything. Even my expercience with Karate has been greater that in Tae Kwon Do since my good trainer Tom Hasselberg is a demanding and strict trainer in a friendly way, who has been not only teaching me self defense but implying ancient history and looking forward to teaching me weapons which is what I need. Now that am an adult it is a little difficult to deal with what you love to do and keep up with the routine, but am always looking forward to learning new things and perfecting my fighting skills.

In General
I might not be an advanced top fighter, but as martial arts being not only body but  Mind as well I am able to believe in myself and be strong, if I doubt at myself I feel weak. self defense is  to protect yourself not to abuse of the arts since you have to keep martial arts principles, persevere in life, and set up the goal to reach the top of the moutain after hiking for long. 1. First: seek perfection of character, 2. First: defend the paths of truth (be faithful) 3. First: foster the spirit of effort (endeavor to excel) 4. First: respect the rules of etiquette First: refrain from violent behavior (guard against impetuous courage)
